Daus Mahnke, M.D.

Dr. Mahnke joined Gastroenterology of the Rockies in 2005.  He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1999.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut in 2002.  He was a Fellow in Training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver from 2002-2005.

Dr. Mahnke is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  Dr. Mahnke has received numerous awards and honors including the Yale Frederick L. Sachs, M.D. Internal Medicine House Staff Award given to the resident “possessing those attributes of the heart and mind that best exemplify the dedication to learning and empathy toward patients.”  He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. 

Dr. Mahnke specializes in all aspects of gastroenterology and digestive diseases such as colon cancer screening and reflux disease.  He performs a large volume of gastroenterology procedures, including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, biliary procedures and laser.  He is on Medical Staff at Boulder Community’s Broadway and Foothills Hospitals, Longmont United Hospital, Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital and Avista Adventist Hospital.  Dr. Mahnke is on the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America Advisory Board.

Dr. Mahnke lives in Westminster with his wife, pediatrician Sheela Mahnke, and one-year-old son, Gibson.  Dr. Mahnke is learning to play the guitar and enjoys fly fishing, hiking and biking.

Dr. Mahnke’s philosophy in treating patients is to keep his patients’ interests first while practicing evidence-based medicine.
