Take Steps for Crohns & Colitis Denver, CO 2014

July 9th, 2014

Why do hundreds of people gather to Take Steps? Well the answer is simple: To find a cure for Crohns & Colitis!

Every year, Gastroenterology of the Rockies participates in the Take Steps Walk at City Park, Denver, CO. The Take Steps Walk is one of the largest events that the Crohns & Colitis Foundation of America holds annually to create awareness and raise money to find a cure for the chronic and life-alternating digestive diseases known as Crohns and/or colitis. GI of the Rockies, (Team Inflamed & Untamed) are not only sponsors, but strong supporters and advocates of the cause. Staff members of GI of the Rockies, family, friends, and patients gathered on Saturday evening June 21st, 2014 to walk the designated route at City Park. This year the event helped raise $ 210,000. Rochelle Fehrn, lead nurse at the Longmont office raved, "This was the best Take Steps Walk that we have participated in. We had staff, family friends, and patients join our team! A great event for a great cause!" We only hope that through persistence and determination a cure will be found for these digestive diseases. Until then, we will fervently continue to support and raise awareness.

As supporters of the Crohns and Colitis Foundation of America we have teamed up to host the North Denver Support Groups for those suffering from Crohns or colitis. We welcome anyone interested to join our Support Groups that are held on the second Tuesday of every other month. The next one will occur on Tuesday August 12th at our Lafayette location (1000 W S Boulder Rd. #200, Lafayette, CO 80026). Andrea Montoya PAC, will be speaking on Biologics.
