December 2021 Newsletter

As 2021 ends and we approach the new year, I want to take this time and thank each of you for your commitment to our patients and to each other. Regardless of your role and tenure with this organization, you have made an impact on the lives of our patients and for this we are grateful.

This year has been one of the most challenging and yet rewarding years in healthcare—we have all made sacrifices to meet the backlog of procedures, we continue to evolve around the 3rd and 4th wave of the pandemic, and we continue to respond to ever changing insurance payment and utilization policies. Despite these environmental changes, GI of the Rockies continues to grow, and we remain committed to advance digestive health and quality of life for our patients.

How we allocate resources in a volatile health care environment involves balancing the needs of the organization, the needs of our colleagues, and the needs of our patients. Our essential and primary focus will always be on our patients, but this patient-centered focus can only be achieved if the basic needs of the organization and staff are addressed first.

My hope is that each of you feel valued and feel pride in the work you do. I also hope you can pause over the holidays and tend to your own personal needs. Do something that fills your bucket—such as reconnecting with family and friends, taking a moment for yourself and living in the present. With the constant demands we all face in our pandemic-era lives, we all need to recharge and rejuvenate.

I wish you and yours a joyous and healthy holiday season.

Sincerely,

Jason Richardson
