November 2021 Newsletter

Entering the holiday season and the final months of 2021, it’s with gratitude that I reflect on the great work we have all done and our tireless commitment to each other and our patients. This year has been a transition year—not just with the nation emerging from a global pandemic, but also a year of unprecedented growth for our practice.

As we adjust our operations to serve the backlog of GI-related procedures and patients, we also welcomed four new physicians to the practice and saw our office and endo volumes grow >28%. We earned national recognition for four of the best ASCs in the United States and passed three state inspections (brilliantly, I may add). We recruited and welcomed sixty-five new colleagues to our team, despite labor shortages and grew our referral base by 30%. We managed this period of great growth and change while earning high marks from our patients; and in the face of a second wave of COVID-19 infections. The Scheduling department committed resources on several weekends to manage a higher-than-normal cancelation rate to assure schedules were filled and to perfect insurance authorization requirements.

Our new physicians jumped right in. In their new surroundings, they contributed to call, and have made a great splash in the market—right out of the gate! This month, in an exceptional display of teamwork, unity, and patient centeredness, our physicians voluntarily covered a colleague’s caseload over an extended period of time without hesitation. Everyone stretched themselves to help us execute this year and for that I am grateful and humbled.

It’s important to celebrate the results of your hard work and dedication to this practice. This issue includes a couple snippets from patients who were so impressed with GI of the Rockies they felt the need to give us a shout out. This month we also celebrate our first Center of the Quarter and Clinic of the Quarter—a distinction earned based on several factors and voted on by the Board of Directors and Operational Directors. This recognition is given to those who live our values and consistently aspire to deliver world-class care. Shout out to the Northglenn Endoscopy team and the Broomfield Office team—whoot whoot!

Finally, I wish you all a healthy and happy Thanksgiving. It’s my hope that you are all able to have some well-deserved time with family and friends this year.

Stay well!

Sincerely,

Jason Richardson
