Ride Resources for Patients Undergoing GI
Procedures with Sedation

Have an upcoming procedure scheduled at Gastroenterology of the Rockies? Can’t find a ride? Take a look at this useful resource guide for ride services – which also includes a person who will sign your discharge paperwork after the procedure.

All procedures that require sedation or anesthesia require patients to have a pre-arranged ride to and from the procedure—and a discharge signature from a responsible adult who can accompany the patient back home.

This requirement is based on Colorado state regulation. It includes patients scheduled for colonoscopies and endoscopy procedures. This does not apply to hemorrhoid banding procedures.

If you need some help setting up a ride prior to your procedure, review this local ride guide to arrange a driver who can safely transport patients to and from scheduled procedures.

Gastroenterology of the Rockies does not manage these ride services.

Transportation on the day of your procedure:

Did you arrange your ride?

    • You must bring an adult (18+) with you. They need to stay in the facility the whole time and take you home after your procedure.
      • Your designated person will need to provide a discharge signature to accompany the patient back home.
    • You cannot go home alone (no walking, bus, taxi, Uber, etc.). If you don’t have someone to take you, your procedure will be canceled.
    • You will be at the facility for approximately 2 hours, and your driver is required to check in with youand stay at the facility until you are discharged.
      • This requirement is based on Colorado state regulations.
