Susan Gieske is a board-certified physician assistant with interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and disorders of the gut-brain interaction, such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and Functional Dyspepsia.
She joined Gastroenterology of the Rockies in 2023 and sees patients at our Downtown Denver GI clinic. Susan is also part of our female gastro services team.
Susan started to practice medicine in the Denver area in 2022. She strongly believes in shared decision making for the best clinical results. She is a proponent of a holistic view of medicine with an evidence-based and analytical approach to her practice.
She graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ with both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in biomedical engineering. She then attended PA school at Rocky Vista University, here in Parker, CO, obtaining her second master’s degree.
She then began her career as a physician assistant in a primary care setting before transitioning into gastroenterology. She knew she wanted to be in GI long before graduation. She loves the nuance and complexity of this specialty, which often branches into other areas of medicine.
When not working, Susan enjoys reading, embroidery, yoga, rock climbing, and exploring new coffee shops around the Denver area.
